This is a song named " Wings Beneath My Wings" and is sung by Bette Midler. This song for me has meaning because it is about the strength of true love and what it can do for someone in a troublesome situation. It holds meaning because it talks about a support system that you can only get from someone who truly cares and that support system helps you do things that you may not have otherwise accomplished without it.

I believe the tittle relate to the movie because it's true that we all go through hardship in life but it's even worst when your striving for a better future as a african american women.
ReplyDelete2 "Five People You Meet On Your Way To Heaven" is a book by Nicolas Sparks. This book looks at life as your journey prior to dying. Once you have passed it examines the differents points in your life as to what you deemed to be most pleasant and important. It really gives an outlook of your life through someone else's eyes to make you see yourself in a different way.
ReplyDelete1. "The country of the Blind", book written by HG Wells (the same of "the War of the Worlds" and "The Time machine"). I'm not sure if it is the title of the book, or the picture in the cover of the book (a pair of angry yellow eyes); but as soon as I see it between thousands of other books, it completely caught my attention. This title suggest something that could be used metaphorical, like for instance a place where people aren't open minded or something like that, however the beauty of the book is that it is literally a "country of blind" people. Either way, literal or metaphorical, is one of those title that make you want to read.
ReplyDelete"Girl Interupted" it's an excellent potrall of her life and how it was interupted when she was put in a mental institution and lost all contact with the outside world. She get's this tittle from a picture she see's one day in the museum of a girl being interupted while playing music named "girl interupted playing music" she made it shorter and kept it as girl interupted. It happen to fit perfectly as the tittle.
ReplyDelete2.“Karma police”, song from the band Radiohead. Well, karma, even though it is known by a lot of people one way or another, when I saw this title, I felt some kind of mysticism that make my brain tickle. This song was on my sister’s mp3 device for a while, and as soon as I heard the melody I just skip it, until one day when I was about to skip it, I saw the title and just let it be. Currently, this is by far one of my favorite songs of all times.
ReplyDeleteAnother tittle that caught my attention was "Act like a lady think like a man" it's a book by Steve Harvey about how men need to be treated in order for you as a women to gain the man you want him to be. The respect, the attention, the love. It tells you how most of them think and how they study you as a women. It was quiet intersting to me I didn't read it to obtain the man I wanted I read it because my friend said it was a good book and specially because the tittle caught my attention.
ReplyDelete3 "A Time to Kill" book is by John Grisham. The title to the book is appropriate. This is the story of a young girl who is african american and is brutally raped and left for dead by two white men in the south. Very good read and great movie. The title is appropriate because the men are arrested for the crime committed against the eight year old girl and her father hides in the courthouse waiting for the two men to pass in the hall on the way to the court room. Once they are within his sight he jumps out and shoots and kills both men. " A Time to Kill" absolutely. There is a time and a place for everything and he chose the criminals time and place.

2. I Love You Like A Sister- This book goes into the life a girl has cancer and is writing about the past, present, and how her future could've been. And it's all done through letters she gives to her friends, family, and boyfriend. The title makes you think its between sister, but its bigger than this when reading it.
3. The Catcher in the Rye- The title is catchy which made me want to read it. But in reality when reading this book it deals with a teenage boy and his struggles with life and death and his journey. The title meaning a boy in a large field of grass.
4. 10 Things I hate about you- When seeing this title you think it's just about 10 things ticking someone off. When watching the movie you understand what it's about the boy she hates. But in the end it's about falling in love. So the title has more than one meaning.
5. Obssed- This movie made me think of all sorts of obssesions as it would to anyone else who see this title. Also its not giving us too much it leaves us wondering the sort of obssesion that it will be. Titles with different means are the ones that make viewers want to watch.
"Good luck Chuck" This movie was funny but it also had its meaning. It was named this way because Chuck was your typical playboy. The problem with him is that he had been cursed as a child to never obtain real love. Which he had forgotten over the years until Yessica Alba enter's the picture. The problem with her was that she was extremely unlucky, and super clumsy. So Chuck has to deal with his curse mean while dating the most unlucky clumsy girl there has ever been.

3.the great debaters - a profesor of a black college inspired students to fight for equal rights by debating with our school and show that they can also be great and can be part of there schools.
4.rudy - its about the main actor of the movie his name is rudy and all problems that came up in his life first with school we didnt have the grades to go the school of his dreams and then he wanted to play football but we was to short to do so and did everthing in his will power to do so and make a name for himself.
5. 7 pounds - a man plays as a irs agent to help forever changing the lives of seven strangers by give 7 parts of his body to the people that need it.
4 "The Celestine Prophecy" book is by James Redfield. Very good read. This book is about an ancient manuscript that holds the story of ten different scrolls each explaining an insight to life and becoming whole on a spiritual plain. This is supposed to make your life more fulfilling with each scroll you find by making life easily expalined and giving you the tools to true happiness. The title does nothing to portray what the book is about. The book was hard for me to put down. There were alot of things in the book that made you think about life in general.
ReplyDelete3. “The name of the rose” (the film). That’s one of the movies that just by looking at it you say to yourself: “Well I won’t watch this, it looks old and boring”. I said that to myself too, but the title makes me watch the whole movie, just to find the relationship movie-title, it was worthy. The name itself gives a mysterious look already, and the movie doesn’t disappoint on that matter, it is really suspenseful and entertaining. On my interpretation(I would have to read the book to confirm this), the rose refers to the girl witch the young monk fall in love with, I was really looking for something more material, like a mystery surrounding a “rose”, but think the girl is the rose after all, because at the end of the movie,( when the young monk is old and telling the story) I remember exactly what he says: “The only face I remember with sharpness, is the one from that girl, I still think of her sometimes, but I never knew her name”

In this book the title gives away pretty much what the book is about once you start reading into the book. The book is about this old man whos at the end of his life and meets 5 people, before entering the pearly gates, who's lives he's crossed. He meets 5 people who played a major role in his life.
- Shindlers List.
Shindlers List is a true story turned movie about Oskar Shindler, a german who played a role in World War II. Shindler was one of the main people in the Third Reich (NAZI). In the movie Shindler tried to save a many Jews as possible by making a list of Jews, First and Last Name, and buying them off to use them as a workforce, a front in order to keep them alive. The title is pretty much effective towards the movie and Shindlers actions of making a list of Jews to protect them from other NAZI organizations.
- Brooklyn's Finest.
When you think of Brooklyn's Finest or New York's Finest, whats the first thing that pops up on your mind?, police, firefighters, etc., In this case its about a the lives of different police officers portrayed in the movie and how they put they're lives on the line and whats happens when they are off duty and soforth. I think the title pleays a major awareness and satisfaction to the movie.
- The Hurt Locker.
The Hurt Locker is a true story/event turned movie about the United States Military and their involvment in Iraq/Afghanistan. The movie portrays the lives of some soldiers on active duty. I think the movie was named "The Hurt Locker" because the true events of this movie accidently leaked. The leaked information showed alot of graphic events that took place over in Iraq. The title clearly clarifies what the government keeps locked up.
- Titanic.
Mostly everybody on this planet has seen Titanic. This movie was based on a true catastrophy that happened in the year 1912. The title clearly gives itseld away.
5 "Sybil" The title to the movie has no special meaning until you watch it or read the book. This is a true story of a woman who had 16 different personalities. This was a great movie to watch for it shows the complexities of a person with multiple personality disorder. It is really amazing what this young woman went through in her life. I would recommend this one as a good read and a great movie.

One can’t actually see how crime can affect a person without other one noticing. The movie is made in Argentina and is about a case that has being close for long time. Apparently the investigator is trying to help the husband of the dead woman which wants the murdered to pay for his or her action. The title is awesome because at the end of the movie it makes one realize that is just the perfect title for this movie.

Living through the eyes of a german boy of eight years old quite protected from the reality of war.bruno, the song of a nazi commandant, and Shmuel, a Jewish boy imprisoned in a concentration camp. Although separated by a wire fence, the lives of those two boys ended interconnected.
2) This movie is called “Nine Queens” another movie from Argentina. This movie relates to the life of the robbers. This movie make me think how this robber do their job and sometimes without me noticing. This movie explains that when one believe to know everything at the end he or she needs to learn more. The title of the movie didn’t make sense until one part of the movie that shows the “nine queens” which are stamps that has an incredible value. It teaches one to be careful of everybody that surrounds you.

Now this character has some problem at island he was send to investigate the problem. The island was a place for people with mental problem (crazy people). Now the end of the movie was as surprising as seeing Leonardo do well with his character. The title was a great one because trough the whole movie one can see how it relates the movie.
ReplyDelete4)The title of this book is “The Adventure of the Dancing Men and Other Sherlock Holmes Stories” this book provides with unsolved cases that only man could find the answer which is Sherlock Holmes. The adventure of the dancing men was my favorite case of all the cases the books provide. It was in crime scene that only rare drawings of a dancing man were left by the victim. No police could find a solution nor could find the murdered. The case was solves by Homes and he explained that the dancing men was a code that provides letters. Great book with an interesting title for me because I didn’t tough about Homes solution until he revealed.

It talks about how now that he has a girl friend that he cares about so much, he isnt goin out to flirt or do all the things he used to do when he was single. So he says that he really likes the girl he is with and changes somewhat of how he is because of her. So it goes to show that once you are in love with someone, you happen to change your ways for that person.
3.Bruce Almighty is a Movie with the main character being Jim Carrey. Its about how he complains so much that god doesnt do anything for him so god himself gives him his powers to show him that it isnt a easy job. So it goes to teach you that you cant complain about life and taht your not the only one with problems and not to be selfish.
4.Talking to the Moon is a song sung by Bruno Mars. It talks about how he misses someone and at night when the moon comes out he talks to it and hopes that the person he misses is talking right back at it. He says how he really misses the person and how talking to the moon he feels that he somewhat can comunicate with the other person.
5.Hero is a song written by Ne-Yo which speaks about how you can be a hero to someone just like someone is a hero to you. Even though you seem like you dont have problems because you help others out, you as well go to someone for help. Also lets you know that no matter what, you will always have that someone who is there for you thats helps you out.
5)The title of this book is called “Six Great Sherlock Holmes Stories” which has many interesting cases. I remember reading a one of the stories that consist in a man that killed a guy. He had an alibi that is pictures with the time on it, which helps him not to be considered the murdered. Holmes tries to solve the case but he couldn’t find answers. The trick was the photos which Holmes saw and provides with the answer. The book was interesting and at the same time teach one how crime can be committed and having the solution in from of one eye without noticing.

He has a great amount of weight on him and the name The Giver came upon because he helps change the community by giving them and helping them handle their memories.
Movie Title: Angels in the Outfield
The Los Angeles baseball team's dream is to win the championship game. However, there is a young boy by the name of J.P who strongly believes they will win because during every practice and game, J.P is the only one whose able to see real angels in the outfield. The angels representation is that they help out the players to win the championship game.
Book Title: The House on Mango Street
Esperanza and her family move to a new house which she does not like because evryone sleeps in one room and the neighborhood is ghetto. Her wish is to move from there and go back to be with those she left behind.The title fits perfect because her house is on Mango Street nad it is the street she does not like.
Movie Title: Frankenstein
This title fits the movie and book perfect because both the book and the movie are all about Frankenstein. The making of this monster, how he came about, his views, his actions and the suspense are what attracts the viewers to want to see the movie or read the book.
Movie Title: 13 going on 30
A 13 year old girl who wants to be mature, wakes up the next day in a 30 year old womens body. She freaks out because she sees the changes in her body and her lifestyle is different as well. The title fits the movie because it basically explains that a 13 year old girl wants to be older and more mature.
4.“Sophie’s world”, book by Jostein Gaarder. It may look simple at first, but if extra thought is used, this can be a very attention gather title. Think about it, what does it mean with Sophie’s world?, people approach this title with different perspectives, like one may think that Sophie is an allusion to God, or that is just the life of a girl named Sophie, What’s the correct answer? BOTH! Really amazing book, a must read for everyone, in my opinion.

ReplyDeleteI've read it 3 times and all the times I have read it shows me the story of a girl that was hiding cause people didn’t like her races as we do know many immigrants hide in shadows afraid of being separated of their loves ones. They to have that experience of seeking a better life and leaving in one that they all live in a family and not are discriminated. It show the world how similar it was as it back then so the world and its mistakes return know to judge others. It may look different cause in this time they aren’t killed in base camps but killed in the frontier like criminals so who are the criminals know. Also back then they escaped cause they weren’t the race they wanted and had to be it’s a mistake to judge but, people don’t judge themselves what makes them different from them aren’t they human. That’s what I got from it.
2) El arte Del engaño (the art of deception): this song really got to me it’s from Cartel de Santa well as you can see it’s a Mexican Rap artist. It shows how false a person can be and that you can’t have her but the person is not really there. It’s how they say your body is her but your mind somewhere else. It tells you that people have the ability to lie and that as easy as a blink of an eye you’re gone. Also how sometimes you’re in the sky and as sometimes some goes up so it too has to fall. So, like they said life is a web that can trap you in it when you least expect it and it is in that moment when it hurts more. Life is a book that tells but, also hides what should not be told it’s a book with no answers.

Life is only lived once and as once they said do what you can while you can so play around life is a lemon that you have to really squirt it until you get all the juice to come out and until the last drop you have to keep going. That’s how I see life you have to fight and keep going no matter what so like I said you have continue on with life and don’t give up fight for life for hope but mostly for yourself experiences are still ahead of you the best is still to come this singer show what I mean life is a mixture of everybody daily life. ReplyDelete1. “Amores perros” is one of my favorite I saw the movie when I was very little is a Mexican movie and it is translated “love is dogs” or the dirty version “love is a bitch” and it’s very interesting because you can refer the title to many ways because the movie deals with dog fights and the different life styles of poor middle class and high class status you might have. so u can take the title literally as the love the owner has for his dog , or as if it’s going well in life for you take it as “amores” or if it’s going bad take it as “perros”

Virginia and freedom writers is about them expressing each other’s stories and fighting to become better persons.
3.”men on fire” is also a good title because it has different meanings the story is of a body guard of a little girl who comes from a rich family. Men on fire can means someone who works very hard which it can apply to the movie because the body guard goes after the kidnappers of the little girl to save her even though he didn’t have to. Also it can mean one who is very angry which also applies because he seeks revenge after the kidnappers to save the little girl.
4. “the pursuit of happiness” I really like this title because the story is about a father trying to make it through with his son. And it shows how he struggles and does the impossible to pursuit happiness.
5. “Seven pounds” which is also good because of the main character trying to change the life of seven people in order to feel relief for the seven people he killed in a car accident he had .
